It was her idea to plut a flat rate of £4.99 on every item that they laundered.

Oh, my, God.

That would have landed their client with a bill for £5,000 for 1,000 items in his hotel washing.

His normal bill? £200.

Ouch!

Not even the offer of a 24-hour hotline could remove the shock from the hotel manager's face.

Mind you, as Sir Alan said, why would I want to ring up for a progress report on my pants?
