Then BBC kept hold of a wad of cash meant to be for the poor deserving mites helped by Children In Need, not the fat cats at White City.

Whatever next?

Well, now - with the news that Davina McCall's mum has sadly died - comes the revelation that the Big Brother host hadn't healed an eight-year rift with her.

So when she filmed that ad for a hair product and she had a cosy phone chat with her mum, the reality is a lot different!

When will honesty come back to the telly? Hmph....
