IS CHRIS MARTIN THE BIGGEST TWO-FACED GREEN CELEB?

So who do you think is the Number One gas guzzler who goes on and on and on and on about saving the planet while not practising what they preach?

Step forward Mr Chris Martin, he of Coldplay fame and free download single for ver kids.

He's been named as one of the biggest, ahem, Hippy-crites in showbiz. And he's in good company with Madonna, Sting, Brangelina and Leo DiCaprio also under scrutiny.

So what sets Chris apart? He says he plants mango trees in developing countries to balance the effect touring and CD manufacturing has on the environment.

That's all very well for the extra carbon to be soaked up by extra tree growth. All very worthy.

But then he goes and flies home between gigs when on tour, according to Alison Goldfrapp.

Many of the 10,000 mango trees he planted after A Rush of Blood To The Head came out, died. And critics say tree-planting is just a scam  to alow rich polluters feel better for their actions.

So the other hippy-crites are:

* Brangelina - their crime is to drive a hybrid Prius car while flying around in their private jet.

* Madonna - slammed Muse for using private jets, but she does the same...and even ordered Radio One's Jo Wiley to New York for an interview. Now that's a waste of an air trip!

* Leo DiCaprio - Drives a hybrid car, blah blah blah, but takes private jets. Seeing a pattern?

* Sting - has killed several polar bears during his tour with the Police last year, despite his heart bleeding for blokes with CDs in their bottom lips!
