BREAKING STORY: SOME GOOD NEWS AT LAST FOR AMY WINEHOUSE
Updated: 17:19, Wednesday May 14, 2008
It's been long overdue, but Amy Winehouse finally has something to celebrate.
Her old man may be banged up in the clink, her recording career is getting more and more erratic, and the cops are virtually camped out at her gaff.
But she will not face charges over video footage which appeared to show her inhaling fumes from a crack pipe.
The 24-year-old singer was arrested and questioned about the film at Limehouse police station in east London for over nine hours last week.
But police have now confirmed no action will be taken against her, her spokesman said in a statement.
The spokesman said: "Police have confirmed that no action will be taken against Amy Winehouse in relation to an investigation into a video handed to them in January.
"She was questioned by police last week and released on unconditional bail.
"They have now concluded their inquiries and no charges will be brought.
"Amy's bail date to return to Limehouse police station has been cancelled, bringing this matter to an end.
"Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer."
Time for a mega night out to celebrate....but don't go headbutting any passers-by, Amy!
